The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Day of Surgery Admissions/Holding Bay per week (pro rata) – Casual – WHA2 Working under supervision, you will assist Medical and Nursing Staff by performing a full range of duties both in the Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) and Holding Bay area. These activities will include transportation of patients, set-up, collection and delivery of equipment, and any associated cleaning and ancillary duties. Transporting patients from the wards to the holding bay, you will deliver and collect items for various hospital departments including Sterilising Services, Materials department, Biomedical Engineering Services, and Pharmacy. You will also help with removing rubbish bags and linen bags from DOSA/Holding Bay, the change rooms and outside corridors. As part of your role, you will participate in internal and external training programs as directed. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital provides health services by means of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services using the most modern available methods of assessment and treatment in medical, surgical, mental health, allied health and other techniques. Emphasis is placed on continuity of care before and after hospitalisation and care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to communicate effectively with people and work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment. You must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking English and physically fit to perform the manual handling requirements of the role. Self-motivated, punctual and reliable in attendance, you will be willing and able to work any hospital roster.
